Ok so i have a friend who has a 99' 3500 x-cab dually and we were trying to find some cheap mods we can do to his truck to make it preform a little better than stock but without spending the cash. The reason this got brought up is because i have two ford 7.3's (and i will probably get bashed for this) but there are a lot of little stuff that you can do to them to make them quicker and i was wondering if there was anything like this for the early 24v's?

i think you would have to get a boost fooler of some kind as well, whether it is incorporated in a box or not.
with j-hooks, turnbuckles, or mechanical boost controllers you will throw overboost codes without a boost fooler of some sort.
not 100% sure on this - so please correct me if i am wrong anybody. . .

Just be careful of the tranny. To many "cheap" mods can result in an expensive tranny. The stockers just don't hold up well with any additional horses!

Forgot to add, it is a 5spd with an aftermarket clutch (not sure what kind) S we arent really worried there. Thanks for the concern tho.

Best mod for your friend's 3500 - should be done before anything else:

A fuel pressure gauge.

I'll second that fuel psi guage. I hooked up my Edge box before researching and cooked my VP....didn't know at the time suckin it down to 1-2 PSI could hurt it. Learned my lesson, now I have to save up for one and deal with a dead pedal till then.
