Cheap go-fast fix
I've heard from some guys here in town you can block your wastegate with a pipe plug on your turbo housing to do away with the wastegate. What do you think, will this build more boost, make power. Watta yall think, opinions please. cumminsboy

If you just block off the waste gate the truck will build more boost but when it reachs 21 psi of boost the ECM will defuel and set an over boost code which turns the check engine light on. You could actually decrease performance.
To make it all work properly you would need a boost fooler. Even with a boost fooler the performance gain would be minimual or none existant all together. The only gain would be lower EGT's.
On a modified truck to go without a boost fooler and disabled waste gate would result in catistrofic results.

On '94-'98.4 this trick will work, along with some other cheap stuff.
On '98.5 - '02 there are almost no "cheap" go-fast parts.
The motor is very electronicly controlled, and the ECM keeps tabs on just about everything, so you screw with the wastegate, and the ECM screws back
Get a COMP, and call it done.
