I just went out and looked at my air box, stock 2nd gen. What is this rubber snorkel your talking about. Are you talking about the rubber/plastic intake portion that extends into the pass wheel well or the outlet side that feeds into the turbo.

I need more air flow to cool EGT's.

I installed an amsoil nanofilter on my truck, and saw a drop in EGT's. The turbo whistle is much louder, which is prompting me to put the silencer ring back in. My SOP dyno is way out of calibration, so horsepower gains feel nil. Looks cool, though!

My stock Airbox had a few areas around the front side that didn't clamp really well to the filter element, indicated by dust streaks accross the rubber sealing surface. The connections for the Nanofilter are tight to 4" schedule 40 PVC, hopefully eliminating the leakage to the air system.

The increase of power with a aftermarket filter, is the same as flipping the airclearer top on a Q-jet carb. It sounds fast, so it must be.

Hey nice easy , like it I call it the K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stoooooupid) hahah
This is what I came up w/, total cost,, around 50$
(Note the small hanger attached to the inner fender support) keeps the bottom free to breath as well,
