which cb's do yall like?
ok i finally got my antennas on my truck, and i thought i had a good cb. (it was my dads, from years ago) It is a cobra and i hooked it up and it lit up, but no static??? i cant get anything in on it. sooooo i also had a old uniden and i hooked it up and it worked, but its small and solid black, and i dont think i like it. So time for a new cb. I kinda like the looks of the cobra with the silver looking front. Which cbs do yall like? Thanks on any input.

I've had a bunch. Cobra, Uniden, Connex, Galxay.
Right now I have two Galaxy's, one in the Dodge and the other in the service truck that I sometimes drive.
My other 3 service trucks all have Cobras in them.
For whatever reason I am constantly taking the Galaxy's in for service.
The Cobra's have all been in place since late '01 in the '02 trucks and have never had a problem.

The older Cobra's are good radios. I have two 23's from mid-eighties that are still working great. One I have had a little work done to, the other is stock, but with a kicker

Love my Galaxy 99v and Connex 3300hp, never any problems with either one of them and they will out talk a cobra any day What ever you do try to get a dual final radio "a 10 meter" such as Galaxy, Connex, RCI, everyone will say man that radio sounds good, or get a small cb and spend some more money to get the same results. If it matters to you a dual final big radio will give you about 40 to 45 watts tuned properly and a small cb between 25 and 30 watts tuned properly. I've got a ten pill box behind my radio and man that thing will fly, 2026 watts.

SUPER STAR 3900HP is hard to beat for the money! A great unit, but have the dual finals tuned for the 50 watts

i've got a DX959 Galaxy. I like using it over the Cobra 19 Plus i've got in my Jeep. I use the Jeep radio more often than the truck, but with the thing getting rained in all the time, I decided to put a "less expensive" radio in it. I've had the Cobra radio for 10+ years though and it's never failed me. Seen more mud and rain that most.

I have a Cherokee Night Ranger 100 that works great! In fact, I'll sell it to you. I just took it out the other day.
Pics are in my Gallery (This one, or the link below my sig). Get back with me for the details.

What are you using in that thing for voltage. Multiple alts? what size? batteries?
Anywho in my opinion I like the Magnum line of export radios ( I will never again own a straight 11 meter) while the 99V mentioned is a fantastic rig you will get more of the bells and whistles from a RF Limited/Magnum for less $$ than alot of your "pay for name" radios. I have a 99V a superstar G.R. and a Magnum s-45 and I chose to use the Mag in the p-up matched to the 500pep transistor box and a big Monkey.
