Yes I did, the **** is a piece of aluminum and is kinda cold in the winter months and the stick is a piece of 5/8 316 stainless tubing that I bent up and polished on the buffing wheel and welded on a nut of the proper thread size on one end and a bolt on the other and screwed her together.

I like that placement from all that I have seen, but I have a stick and cant do the speaker placement. I think that is the rig I am going to go with.

Excuse to buy welding equipment
I have the Geno's (BGBW) CB mount. I plan on using for a Ram Mount for my handheld GPS.

The only problem I see with the mount in front of the center seat is that they put the radio high when you have the manual transmission. I figured mine would be up above the front of the seat 4 or 5 inches because of the cup holder bezel part of the shifter tower, that's why I ended up cutting the useless pocket area. If I used the mount shown above my radio would've been hitting my cup smoothie thingy. As you may have noticed by my pictures I have the mic mounted to the front of the cup smoothie and since those pictures were taken I've also mounted my FishStik plow control there also. It's pretty handy.
Take your radio and put it where the floor mount would go and see if you like it in that location. With the mount I made you could put the speaker on the bottom of the radio. I do like the dials being right next to you with the other mount though.

There are two bolts on the front bottom of the center seat that I took out. I drilled holes in the metal that I used in my bracket, slipped the bracket between the center seat and it's bracket and put the bolts back in. Really easy.
I meant to paint it or cover it with something, but that is way down on the list.
