Hey Buckshotmckee, if you raise that antenna up a little, to where the red coil is above the cab it will transmit and recieve a little better, just a little helpful advise.
Blackdiesel02, if you go with a fiberglass antenna don't go with the Francis, they are junk! Anyone who has been around cb's for a while will agree with that, the best antenna to go with is a stainless antenna such as a wilson or a custom type coil. A fiberglass Wilson is good if you don't care about superb transmit quality or if you go off roading alot, they take the abuse better than stainless. Fiberglass just does not transmit as well as stainless.

I don't have any problems now? I have a good clear 5 mile radius, and thats with a lot mountains/hills here. Thats big enough for me. On a flat line, 15 miles.

P.S. 12vordie, your stacks set-up, do you get more smoke out of the Pass. side because of the short distance, or is it equal? Thanks

I was really suprised when I first drove it that it has equal smoke on both sides, probably because of the spliter in the y-pipe. I will try to get some pics of the smoke in the near future. It looks awesome, you can't even see the highway behind you or a vehicle that might be behind you when you accelerate hard, I need more air, that is why I am going to build a twin setup.

You can get the fender mounts and the "Fire ring" connectors from Firestik.

Here is a pic of the twin Wilsons on my home made back rack.

Yes, the camper slides in with the rack just fine but I do have to remove the antennas......I have a Wilson that is mounted on the camper too.
