Rob. Was about 9 degrees all day monday. 17 yesterday and mid 20's today. I really enjoy this kind of weather. Wish we had snow though. Looking forword to my lake placid trip the end of the month.

The K40 is a fiberglass antenna not a spring load. Its basicly a fiberglass rod with the wire warped around it to the top where most of the wire is coiled up (top load) I have a k40 super flex. Its about 3/8" thick and has tons of flex to it. It can easily bend below the hight of your cab. The only problem is the tip at the top is very thin wire that has a set screw so you can move the wire up and down to "tune" the antenna. Having this grind around on a parking garage might hurt it but if you dont mind sticking your arm out the window and grabbing the antenna to hold it it will deffintly flex enough to stay down. k40 super flex antennas are 15-20$ depending on size. I wouldnt run larger then a 4foot fiber glass. You can always try a 2 foot and see how your reception is. Transmiting isnt the problem ususaly. cb's do what 4watts? My galaxy peaked and tuned does 32watts with all the stock factory parts and you can always get an amp. But a good tall antenna is what you need to get other singles from people with poor/weak setups.
hope this helps some

I am thinking of taking out my FM/AM Antenna and attaching the fender mount and running the Firestik -AR1A that combines both Radio and CB. Maybe put a 2 foot antenna on the mount?

orrr......

Do something like a superflex with a mag mount and slap that puppy on my tool box....

What do ya think?

You can buy a base spring for any antenna. I use one on my off road rig. The base is mounted in the roof and when I go into my garage I just pull the antenna down and tuck the end under the roof rack. The spring is flexible enough to bend over at a 90* angle.
