catcher versus smarty?

is there anything better about a smarty than the original catcher ecm? i know the smarty has different settings, and you can change tire size, and it has the cold weather high idle; but does it make more power than the old catcher ecm's? the reason i am asking is you can get used ecm's for a good price now. alot cheaper than a new smarty. thanks

well, the only thing thats better about the smarty is that you dont have to buy a speicfic one for your truck, and you can choose your level. Plus all the other features you mentioned. Other than that, if you can get the ecm cheaper, go ahead.

Oh and the smarty would be ALOT easier to sell over the mad ecm because it dosnt have to be model/year specific!

I didn't like the catcher that I tried. Very touchy throttle, couldn't use the cruise control, lots of low end smoke. I much prefer the smarty.

Nope. Marco was the only guy that ever made them and he quit making them and started making the smarty. After trying both I wouldn't hesitate to buy the smarty again. It's just so much nicer having control of it all.

another advantage that was not listed for the smarty is that Marco keeps coming up with upgrades for the smarty that can be downloaded. It is a superior product with excellent customer service.

It would be on a 01 6 speed.

My buddy is lookin for somethin to stack with his drag comp but ant up for givin 600 for the smarty since he will only use that one level (#8).

He said he just turn the comp off and when he wanted all the power go to 5X5 on the comp.
