Thanks for the description. I think I am going to buy a stick of tubing and take it to a shop and have them make 90* bends, 4 of them, and then I will cut two of them in half and weld them together. Thanks for the heads up on the plate welded in between, i wouldn't have thought of that and I would have been disapointed. Thanks

Another way (cheap..$$)

Use a piece of 4"x6" square tubing (60" long). Weld a couple short pieces of angle to the bottom to get this tube off the bed and provide a way to bolt to the truck (this provides the support of the stacks so no additional clamps or stack support is needed). Weld a straight piece of 4" (or 5" depending on your current exhaust system) directly inline with your stock system on the bottom side (about 16" long I think). Use a 4" IDx4"ID 90 elbow to connect your stock system to this.

On the top side weld 20" or so long pieces of 4" exhaust tubing in the location you want your stacks. On the outside of this weld on 5" ID couplers that the 5" stacks will slide into. Deliberatily leave the open slots on the bottom side of these couplers open (don't weld around the entire bottom....water drains). 36" stacks will stick more then 6" above your cab. Cut off the bottom to achive the length (get in the garage) you want. Exhaust runs up the inside 4" pipes and only hits the top portion of the 5" stacks. This keeps the stacks warm - cool to the touch the lower you are on the stacks. For sound control and heat (under tonnue covers, etc) wrap the inner pipes and the 4x6 tubing piece with exhaust wrap. The system will NOT make any mess with rain or even auto carwashes. Self draining.

Even with the inlet to the 4x6 offset quite a bit, the smoke is balanced. Sound is pretty mellow and with exhaust wrap and mufflers underneith you reach stock sound levels in the cab.

I have less then $250 in this setup.

Cummins4U,
What do you do to make that truck smoke like that? Which mod did that for you?

UFM on 5x5, DD3's, and a 14cm housing with the Dodgezilla combined with a lead foot. It cleans up on the top end good and lets me have fun with under 5psi. DD3's made the biggest difference.

Also, anybody have time to shoot some pics of routing from the original exhaust up underneath the bed?
