Can you Figure this out?
Ok so the sotry goes that I got a p1689 code on my truck a couple weeks ago, and it started acting up, then went away then started again, but this time with a vengence. The check engine light stayed on the whole time. It was revving and surging and stalling whenever it felt like it.
So i got this preminition too pull the comp off, and it has been perfect since....the code hasnt come back at all!!!
So i thought the p1689 came from a malfunctioning comp box that caused the comm fail between the ecm and the vp44.
But since i pulled the comp off and cleared the codes, i left the turnbuckle on. I can hit 28 psi of boost, and it feels the equivalent of stock plus 30 hp. AND NO CODES??? No overboost code, no sense of defueling!!
Do you guys figure the ecm is fried, and thus the comp MAGNIFIED the impurites in the signal betwwen the ecm and vp44??

Harness from the comp. That would explain why when you pulled it off the truck magically started running better and then when it's on, it runs like crap. It's either the harness or the comp. Either one can die. I'd try sending the comp back to edge and having them take a look at it.
