If you stay in it or lug it EGT's would get a little warm, but nothing you couldn't control with your right foot. Do the gauges first like your planning on, and watch em close the first time you pull heavy to get a feel for how hard you can run, but I dont think youll have much of a problem.
You might be close to the limit of your stock clutch though. Others with a manual could probably tell you what the stock clutch can handle better than I can though.

If you can find just a boost fooler, and manage to keep your boost up then EGT's will be ok. The only time they get really crazy is if you lug the snot out of it will little boost!! BOOST IS OUR FRIENDS
