Just got my Scotty this morning. I was looking at the filter element and it doesn't look oiled. When I ordered they said it came oiled so I pulled it out of the casing and it looks and feels like it might be lightly oiled. There is no noticable color on the element, i.e. K&N oil is red.
Did yours come the same way and should I put some K&N oil to be safe?
I am definitly looking forward to seeing what it can do!! ;D ;D

Who's got some pics of a Scotty II installed? I am thinking of putting one on my old 02'. We have been grossing over 35k withe the truck and new 46' stepdeck, so the warranty is allready out the window, and I think I need a little more cool air for that much weight. I dont need anymore power, I just wanta keep it runnin cooler. Also, does scotty sell a 4" exhaust as well?

Oops! I oiled my aFe in the Scotty II, but I also let it sit for 2 days prior to popping it in. I took it out to check the turbine wheel. No oil on it, so I should be good to go. I had the same problem. I couldn't feel any oil on the aFe, so I made an assumption. And you know about assumptions!

My buddies at work say " I ALLWAYS WANTED TO KNOW WHAT ONE OF OUR DUMP TRUCKS SOUND LIKE WITH A SIX SPEED". .... I love the sound and it's not bad at all. I have a 4" exhuast, scotty II, and the silencer ring pulled on the turbo, sounds sweet! Still haven't cut the hole yet :-... On the list of things to do after moose hunting season is over.
Caribou is in the freezer. ;D
Moose is still in the woods.

I've got a Scotty II, and since I'm tone deaf to my girlfriends voice, : : the Scotty kinda sings a tune which I can hear traveling down the road, I look over to my girlfriend and it seems she is lip-sking, "Oh the old Heber Ram just keeps chuggin along" Must have a NOS leak somewhere???

Re:Cab noise with the Scotty II
Installed my Scotty II last night with the cowel hole cut. Whoever said it sounds like it is going to suck the glove box through the firewall is dead accurate. I do have a good stereo and the Scotty drowns that out!!! Anything above 5 lbs. of boost and the noise picks up significantly. I haven't driven it on the highway yet so I don't know how the road noise will compete with the Scotty. I may go to Stereo City and have them install a couple of 15" speakers in the extra cab!!
I will say this much, I am not going to rush to judgement until I tow and see the results.
I am going on a trip this weekend and we'll see how the little lady reacts. I may have to tell her to imagine she is on an airplane on the way to Hawaii!!
