I've been running them in my vehicles since they started (many moons past)
I love em. My wifes old ferd Aerostar got one second day home from the dealer, 10 yrs and 200K miles later sold it w/still ZERO oil burning and same pressure as it had a a yr old. Look in my gallery and you'll see the dual bypass setup on my 99. It was my first dual setup and I wouldn't do it again only because it seems to delay full oil pressure by about a second prolly because of the extra hosing. It's real easy to change the filters (yearly ) but I'd leave the full flow in place and route the bypass off block.
The other downside is $$ They aint cheap but neither is a new engine so I figure I give up 1 Starbucks a month and it pays for the yrly change.
They have a new design of filter now thats supposed to remove/reduce soot from the oil???
I got one to put in this spring and I'll let you know how it goes.

you might also want to consider one of these oil centrifuges. It remeoves even smaller particles and soot.
Spinner Dodge install

about $600 but no more filters needed. Looks pretty cool to me. I am also thinking about adding a pre luber. I want to see how many miles I can get on my CTD !

I run Amsoil in everything, and do yearly engine oil changes, with an oil analysis in the middle and when changing. With the Bypass filter, I can run from Whitehorse to Oregon (2,000 miles) and the oil is still clear. It costs, but I want this engine to last forever.

I don't know about your year of truck, but on mine I found a 1/8" plug on top of the stock oil filter housing; it had 100psi at idle! We drilled and tapped on the side of the valve cover for the return line, and it works well.

I have the FS2500.....to do over, this would have been my FIRST mod. Oil sampling, I now have an interval of changing the cannister filter every 10,000 miles, and haven't yet had to change the oil. At my next filter change, I'm adding synthetic.
Your average oil filter traps particles in the 30-45 micron range. The FS unit traps 99% of all particles ONE micron or less. Goodbye soot.
