Funny, I posted on this thread last night and my post is gone.

I did some web searching and I found that the Denver bumpers are aluminum, and ~$1400. Nice bumper, wish I could afford it, but it just isn't happening with E4 paychecks!

That was the price about 5 years ago. (you probably found either Dave Fritz's page or the old Earthroamer page)
They were $1500 when I got mine. (ordered in Feb '03)

I'm sure, with the price of aluminum and the price of gas, they have to be pushing $1800 now, if not more.

Technically it was.

Made by hand in someones home.

Not mass produced by a metal stamping robot.

Nothing negative was intended by saying homemade. There are some very good craftsmen on this board that have made some nice homemade bumpers. The DOR just didn't jump out at me at the time like a buckstop, ranchhand, road armor or the like.

i am rebuilding my home made bumper to make it "flow" a little more. it was flat and choppy before so i am adding some pieces to the bottom on an angle like the road armor bumpers. also adding a tube brush guard for the grill and head lights.

10-4, I knew you were just messing around, but thought I'd better clarify in case someone else thought I was throwing stones, which of course I wasn't. Everyone really seems to like their DOR bumpers, and they look rugged.

I'm pretty sure that's one of Layne Wright's masterpieces-- AKA Denver Offroad or DOR.

Here's another-- you see if it's the same:

Phox - Just noticed you put the factory air dam back on?
Thought you had added Layne's Aluminium shield/skid plate??
