Im tryn to get started on a front weight bracket for my truck. Livin on a farm i have access to a lot of different size suitcase weights, so thats what ill be using. I was jus trying to figure out the best way to make one, as well as how to get it to the frame. So any thoughts and ideas will help

what i did i took a one of them hitches with the square hole off the back of my truck when i got a dmi bumper. the frame rails on my truck get narrower in the front so i just cut i think it was 3 inches of driver side of the hitch welded it back together and braced it a lot. then after a few drilling holes in the frame bolted it right up. It worked out good this way i get most of the weight on the drivers side. then for the auctual rack it is just a old ball hitch that the ball part was cut off and a flat peice of steel welded to it. i will take some pictures of it sometime. i just use a ratchet strap to hold the IH suitcase weights on there.(but they dont move some pulls they require them to be secured) i can hang 800 lbs on it.
for the second gens they make front hitches. and EEP sells them as well.

I made a front 2" receiver hitch like ihpower. I used 1/8" wall 2.25" square tubing for the cross pieces and 3/8" plate that attached to the sides of the frame where the stock bumper bolts fasten. Then I made a 6x18x1/2" plate to mount the suitcase weights and welded that (with gussets) to a 2x2" square tubing. The weight carrier slid inside the front receiver and held 750-1000 lbs of weight.
