build me a 400-450 hp 12v
as the title states, what would you build (12valve guys) to get to 400-450 hp with a 96-97 12v 5spd. this truck is for TOWING and DAILY DRIVING. i would like a low smoke truck. if my hp ratings are too high for what i plan to do with the money, then i can lower my expectations. so far i am thinking:
sbc con fe
4k gsk
0 plate (or which one?)
dv's ( no idea)
injectors (no idea)
turbo 62/12 from II or HTT
i am new to the 12valve and need guidance. i want this thing to be an animal no matter what is behind it. i know the 12valves get hot and the head doesn't flow well stock, so this may be a drawback. let me know some setups and ideas as my current truck should be sold soon and i am looking for a 12 valver. hopefully it will be a dually!!!

I made 460+ (prior to the tires going up in smoke ) with this set up
215 pump with stock DVs, 100 plate and 4k governors
PDR tow twins
F1 Helix II
F1 Hot Rod 370s
16.5* timing
When building this truck I told Don my goals. I wanted a super clean 12V @ 500-550hp that I could use to DD, have fun with and still use as a tow platform and followed his recommendations. I have yet to install the ported o-ringed head so I haven't poured the timing on, but have no doubt it will hit the numbers I wanted with some more timing. What a blast it is to drive.
I am extremely happy with how clean this combo is, it really is as easy to drive smoke free as my 24V was at slightly less power. I would think the #s you are looking for would be easy to attain with a single charger.
