BuckStop Bumpers

BuckStop Bumpers
Winters coming and I will be driving in the dark 90 percent of the time and I think I am ready to order a heavy duty bumper as I don't want Bambi ruing my night and costing me 4 grand to fix my front end little bit of preventive maintenance. I have narrowed it down to a buck stop bumper. Question is was any of you guys running them still able to use our factory fog lights?. I am for sure probably getting the baja style and after that I am going to finally build my bed. Thanks in advance

I have a Buckstop bumper and I love it. The fit and finish is great. Not sure how the factory fog lights would fit in it though, I have a set of big Hellas in mine.
This is the same bumper on my old 99 1500

The Bs light brackets are 0.250" thick x 2.750" wide x 6" long L-shaped, attach to the vertical bumper mounting brackets - are slotted for up to 5" vertical adjustment - will take any lighting with a stud or bracket-mount at the bottom - buckets are sized for 6"dia lights - the small oem lighting might look kinda silly in them big buckets, but can be done till you get some real buck-eyeball searing light'em ups.

How do you like the hella fog lights ? I just found this on there sight this is what i was worried about but i am at ease now this is the one I am going with except no winch and I asked them if there was way to keep the box and the lid for the winch and have the front solid so i could have a chain box.
NOTE: The factory wiring harness and dashboard switch for stock fog lights in most stock truck bumpers can be used to power 55 Watt aftermarket lamps. However, this harness only works when the truck is on low beams.

You can get around this feature with a simple little jumper in your power distribution center. I would have to look at mine to tell you where to put the jumper but I have had it in for years. You could also use the stock harness to trigger a relay to run more than 55w if you want.
