Buckstop Bumper Installed(Pics)
The truck was sitting for the 9 weeks while I was away, so I had a laundry list of things I wanted to get done when I was home. I finally got the speedometer hooked up, I installed work lights in the rear rollpan, I changed to summer weight motor oil. Also waiting for me was the front bumper I ordered back in March from Buckmark. Removing the old bumper was easy enough, but the frame rails had accumulated sundry brackets, old welds, and rust, all of which prevented me from bolting up the new bumper brackets. I ended up driving over to a friend's who let me use his cutting torch and air grinder to clean everything up. When I was done I painted them with Rustoleum. Here's the finished look:
It's designed to hold a winch. I'm hoping to get one fitted before next winter. Overall the truck is still getting great mileage and runs like a top. The interior is a little clunky. Some things don't work and others work poorly. I'll have time to think about what I'd like to do to it when I'm working out West.
