As far as I've read/heard, there hasn't been much in the way of these on our trucks. Blow off valves actuate by a difference in pressures, like on the turbo side of a throttle body and the engine side. When getting out of the throttle on a gas engine, the butterfly in the throttle body closes, pressure builds between the turbo and butterfly, and on the other side, vacuum forms. But since there is no throttle body on a diesel, there won't be a pressure differential like this.
A BOV will help with turbo bark by releasing the intake air instead of trying to backspin the compressor wheel when getting out of the throttle. Barking the turbo puts a lot of stress on the shaft, and is a cause of failure, especially in turbo's like the HX40, which has the same shaft as the HX35, but larger turbine and compressor wheels. A blow off valve is also said to help spool up between gears, since the turbo will keep spinning instead of stalling when getting in and out of the fuel.

bd is the only ine I know of who has a kit. it is microprosessor controlled so you are not relying on the pressure difference to operate it. most are actually pulled open by vacuum only, so obviously will not work well on a diesel.
It also has nothing to do with a wastegate.

The sound depends on the boost level.
It sounds decent at 35-45lbs. BUT, it sounds WICKED at 95lbs on my old twin-turbo truck.
McPherson which TIAL do you run on your race car. This on is a 50mm. Is yours the same model or different.
