Bouncing at 1250

Every since I installed my 3k gov. springs I cannot maintain speed at about 1200-1250 rpms especially in low gears(1-3). Im guessing this is where my boost begins to turn on and with the softer springs it just begins to hop. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. It may also be from where I adjusted the idle and there is not enough slack in the throttle rod ??? or maybe the gov. springs themselves are too tight? Im definately not doggin my gov. springs... Theyre awesome ;D ;D ;D especially with the 370s ;D. Any help will be apppreciated.
Wheels
Re:Bouncing at 1250

Junkie, I am surprised that several people haven't jumped in. You can expect to have some problems at about 1250 with the 3000 and the 370,s. However, most of the stumble can be removed by adjusting the spring keepers either one click tighter or looser.
Try a search. There are lots of posts.
george

I had the same thing until a got the AFC adjustment just right. I see you have a cut spring. Try getting a medium Spring from Piers. The govern spring kits make the fuel curve more responsive and if the AFC isn't still you'll get the hop...

Re:Bouncing at 1250

what is a cut AFC spring. I took the rack stop out of my truck will that cause this problem because I have it also. I can't hold a steady RPM from 1200 to 1800. it just jumps from the ont to the other even with the smallest of movement. On a good note it helps burnouts a lot ;D
DM01

Re:Bouncing at 1250

Basically the cut AFC spring is the soft spring that comes with the TST kit that is cut in half. With this cut spring boost pressures come up faster (less hesitation) and the throttle is more responsive. The downside is there is an extreme amount of black smoke and apparantly it causes you to bounce at 1250. This setup was basically just to get me by until I really got into the heavy bombing, however I did try to put the full AFC spring (softest in the kit) last week and it totally robbed my power :'( . The soft spring took away most all of the black smoke and I had way less bottom end power. also The spring acted like it was starving my engine of fuel. My truck actually died twice when I took off with little throttle pressure >. On top of all that the bouncing was definately not cured . Needless to say I took the spring out and replaced it with my cut spring which gave me back all my power. It is very possible that something was just out of adjustment with the TST springs but I did try several different settings before I pulled it out.
Sorry this was so long and thanks for the help,
Wheels
