Bought an Xzillaraider Std Module - 30/70/120HP
Hey guys.....just installed this Quadzilla box on my '99 3500...#DXZ98S
To be honest its not that impressive at all. Not what i was looking for anyhow.
The box seems very laggy until about 1700rpm+
PL1 is almost no difference....very little
PL2 is OK but still i dont think its adding 70HP/225lbs-ft
PL3 is alot better but i still thought it would be pulling harder than it is.
All testing is done right now, cool outside about 0* Celcius in 2WD
Pump wire has been verified correct & tapped. I stripped some of the insulation off before tapping it.
I dont know....anyhow have any idea's? Bad box....etc? Havent tested my Fuel pressure in a while or changed the fuel filter either.
Tommorrow im going to hook up my Recon and monitor boost/fuel pressure & see what its doing.
Anyhow else have experiences with this module?

1700 RPM is pretty low???
Maube you expected too much out of a 4wd Dually?
Also does it have 4.10's? That hurts some because it goes through the gears so fast and is not at low RPM very long.

I thought the Xzillaraider had 2 versions: 1 with timing and 1 without
If you want something nice, stack a small timing box with it......, EZ, XZT+, VA, Smarty, etc........
Will make a night and day difference!!!!

Didnt get a chance to hook up the Recon as i was yanking the powertrail out of the Firebird today.....will get the Recon in tommorrow & post back some results.
As for the boxes.....anyone have a used timing box out there for me? I thought spending $500 would wake this sucker up!
Its got all top end!!!!!

Ok.....admin....dont know what you're saying here...i dont understand?
Anyhow...i did some poking around today, installed the RECON & accessories. I did buy the f/p kit as well but i didnt hook it up yet, rather just put the trans temp probe in for now.....will install the f/p kit within the next few days.
As for the Recon, seems pretty cool. the "oil" setting seems to be stuck at 100* though. Not sure if this is a MINIMUM temp as i didnt drive the truck more than 4 kilometers today.
BOOST stock is about 18psi, on PL-1 i saw 25psi....on PL-3 i did a quick burst & saw 31psi
Anyhow, i had 2 manifold bolts missing & another 2 were loose! Noticed them while i was drilling/tapping for the EGT bung. I should of looked at these earlier this year as my friend had the exact same thing happen to him.....to the point where he lost 4 maifold bolts. Mine were at the front & back of the manifold....back 2 were gone & the front 2 had back out about 1/4"
So, im looking for a timing box.......which one is BETTER.....i dont want to do this twice. I see the Diablo Power-Pucks for about $200 new.....how about the Edge EZ, Van Aaken, etc....? Is there one i should be choosing over the other?

The quad XZT+ is an awesome little box. It's USB updatable and you can download different tunes from quad's website. It fuels harder (within the limits of the stock ecm) down low than any other timing box, well, any other box within it's price range. The smarty has a lot of low end but it costs twice as much. Quad is working on getting a high idle tune out for the XZT+ so it will have a high idle function when the switched to the "off" position.
