Bottom Tapping Head Stud Threads????

Ahh, I'm alright then, I hope... I think I'm going to skip this bottom tap thing and just back them out and torque them. Does anyone think I should get new studs or just use the old ones that are in great shape? The old ones probably won't stretch anyways.

Maybe just find someone who knows what they are doing to overcheck or assist with your work....

Ive used the same 12x1.75 tap on all my engines with no problems at all?
Some of the holes sure get filled with engine grunge so cleaning them out is important to me to make sure the bolt actually threads all the way in. Just my $.02
