in the mid 30's the stock turbo is at its limit. i can push 43 psi outta my hx35 but ive been told that its jsut pushing superheated air. so id say high 20's to 30 ish

in stock form, the turbine side chokes before the compressor does. Basically, if you have enough fuel to push your turbo past 32psi or so, then you need a larger housing to bring it down to right around 30psi.
I've read that 21psi of boost will support 350hp with no smoke. But that's a HUGE housing and would be pretty laggy-- but would be good for towing and mpg.
