Question Boost hose blowout

I installed my FASS, Banks Stinger, Banks Monster Exhaust, and Banks Brake on 7/17, and headed to the CO mountains with my 32' TT on the 23rd. My FP stayed at 13 lbs at idle and normal driving, and only dropped 1/2 lb at WOT. My EGTs stayed at 850/900, and spiked up to 1200 at WOT. My boost would peak at 28 WOT (the Stinger's max boost setting) and drop down to the low 20's while running at 75-80 mph on the flats, below 15 lbs while running below 65 mph, and into the mid/upper 20's while climing hills. I passed several vehicles while climing uphill, and never had to touch my brakes while going downhill. I've noticed my cheeks ache and my right foot itches a lot more -- it just wants to feel the ponies run! I guess I won't be getting 18 mpg anymore...

Here's my problem & question: twice while driving through Nebraska (flat land), the rubber hose connected between the turbo's "down tube" and the intercooler blew the hose clamp off. The sudden sound of the escaping air and loss of power made me think I blew up the engine. After moving the hose clamp up the hose 1/4" higher, it stopped blowing off. I retightened the other hose clamps and notice one more was close to blowing off. These were all tightened during the Stinger installation -- I know they were tight. With the added boost/power, will I need to replace the rubber hoses and/or clamps? I don't remember reading anything about this, and appreciate all comments/suggestions.

Some people spray the cleaned connections with hair spray...I haven't tried it.

You can take the rubber connections off, clean the pipe with alcohol, and spray them with hair spray and that might help. Or you can order some upgraded boots from Piers that are extra strong. Be warned though, the Piers boots are an absolute bear to get on and off.

The Piers boot are very good, my stock boots were getting soft and kept coming off no matter what I did, especially on hot days. Changed and no more problems

Use a torque wrench and the specs in the manual at least once to get a feel for it, the clamps should be much tighter than most folks would do by feel alone. Not positive but think the torque is 175 inch/lbs.
Hair spray works great also.
