Boost Fooler Advise??
Need to check to make sure I have this all straight in my head. First off some background. I've got a 2001 QC 4X4 LB Auto on 35" Pro Comps w/2" levelers with 125k on the clock. The truck seems to have injectors but I cannot gaurantee that fact being that I bought the truck used. I have however ran it against a lighter SB truck with an Edge Comp (turned to Off, but turnbuckled) and ran him pretty much straight up. The injector lines have all been cracked as well as the line tabs. But none of the powdercoating on the Intake manifold bolts have any kinda of wrench marks on them indicating an IP replacement. I have recently replaced an LP that was starting to fade into the 8psi mark, and now I'm back into the 15psi range at idle, 10 psi at WOT. Now im looking at going the Mad ECM route because the truck is primarily a tow truck, but If it does infact have injectors would turnbuckling it and adding a standalone boost fooler like the one USDIESEL offers,(http://www.usdieselparts.com/moreinf...duct_ID=162626) give a performace kick until i find that elusive Ebay ECM so I can run a Mad ECM? Or is that thing even the correct part I'm looking for? Also the truck does have a full complement of gauges so I can keep an eye on FP and PYRO. Just really looking for an intermediate MOD that will get me through til I can find an spare ECM.

If your EGT's are in check at this piont, turning the boost pressure up may not yield you any real performance. What are your max egt's at now during WOT?
If you are planning on getting the MAD ecm just leave your truck as is until then, I can't see the harm, and the money spent on a boost fooler would be better spent on the new ecm.
BTW, my buddy just installed the MAD ecm on his truck, he is all
he can't stop talking about how fast his truck is now.

Well due to my altitude which hovers around the 5800-6000 ft mark, I think my EGTs are lower than that of a truck with injectors and stock boost at sea level. They hover in the 1000-1100 range if im in it and running it hard. Also I have a lot of black smoke all through WOT. Boost peaks and stays at 19ish. My thinking is with that much smoke and only stock boost I really have to have injectors in this thing. I did forget to mention it in my Sig but it has the muffler removed and what looks like 4-5 inch all the way back from the spot they removed the muffler.
I haven't really had the chance to pull much but that should change this weekend after a pulling a 23ft cuddy cabin ~200 miles round trip. I'll respond back with how my EGTs looked after the trip. I just figured that 80 bux would be a decent bump til I can dump the 500 plus the cost of a spare ECM. Thanx for the input on your buddies MAD ECM equipped truck, it only reinforces my decision to go that route.

I wouldn't spend any money just yet, save your money and get the MAD ECM. You do not need a boost fooler with the MAD, just a boost elbow to trick the wastegate. The programming of the MAD removes the overboost problem. It is a huge difference in driveability of the truck. I decided to keep my stock ECM for those just in case emergencies. Be careful of 'ECM' on ebay, many if them are 'PCM'. The PCM has 3 plugs and the ECM has one plug. You can just pay the additional cost to Bob for one of his spare ECM's. If you find an ECM from the junkyard, he will give you a core refund. Great guy to deal with, great product from Marco. I have to say I am pleased and the truck is actually fun to drive.
