ive always heard that 35psi is about it on hx35. after that it is pumpin hot air and not efficient. i got mine wastegated at 40 and it does ok when its cold here in the winter but in the summer it makes the egts climb quick.

Question:
I can't seem to get this boost figured out. Current mods in sig + adj boost elbow screwed all the way in, which should block the waste gate from opening, correct? But according to my gauge, the boost hardly ever reaches 20psi. Is there something wrong here as I would like to max boost out @ 35psi by adj the elbow. Or is it that only when towing or under load, I may see max 35psi?thanks.

don't think XZT does it you will have to get a boost fooler i got mine off ebay it is a BD boost fooler make sure your gauge is hooked in to the part of the boost fooler going into the sensor on the manifold or else you will get a false reading

The XZT+ does boost fooling, so that is not the problem.
When I had just my XZT+, Air Filter and boost elbow, I could hit 32PSI if I held it at WOT for awhile. With driving around, daily driving and doing a quick acceleration, I would see around 27 I believe.
I would check all intercooler boots for cracks or cuts, tightness as well.
EDIT: This is just a thought, but if you are using an electric boost gauge the plugs inline with the the stock MAP sensor harness. It could be that since the XZT+ does boost fooling, you are only "seeing" 20psi on the gauge since that is fooling the ECM. You might actually be running 35+, its just your electric gauge is seeing what the XZT+ wants the ECM to see. Try switching the gauge plug around (if possible) so that the gauge is "infront" of the XZT+. This way the gauge will see what the MAP is reading, not what the XZT+ is reading.

This is exactly whats happening.

If your gauge is hooked in correctly, I would start checking for boost leaks, loose clamps, that sorta thing. Also check around intake manifold and intake horn for leaks.
Like even with no added fueling, boost elbow and boost fooler, these trucks are capable of running higher than 20psi pretty easily.
