Boost and EGT gauges
Waam here, Hooked up boost gauge tube by taking off intake horn as showen on Shovelheads picture. Did this last thursday and all went well. Just got back from Wk. end camping trip, 300 Mi. Rd. trip, most all of it free way. Drove 65 MPH on cruise, pulling 9000,200 lb fiver. Boost stayed right on 10 lbs. Tranny ran 135 and EGT's stayed at 700 degrees. Outside temp. was 72 degrees at the time. I'am assuming this is all kind of normal. Truck is stock except for K&N air breather. Diesel fuel went up to 1.99 today at the Meijer store in Grand Haven, Mich.

10 is pretty normal for just level cruising, but should have gone up to around 18-19 on hills.
Tranny 135, probably reading pan temps?
EGT's sound like you are post-turbo, and does sound normal.
900 is pretty normal for pre-turbo cruising.

Typo error
phox mulder. Yes that was for sure a typo error. Should have been 9200 lbs. Had fiver weighed at the local redi mix co. I forgot to say driving was on level highway for about 20 miles or so. If I did hit hills boost and EGT's would go up. Thanks for correcting me it's been 53 yrs. since I left school, and I'am slowly losing it I guess.
