More fuel will allow for more boost, some have simply disconnected their wastegate and used their foot as a boost controller. However if you are on the stock turbo do not exceed 38psi.

I thought the 38psi was the point that the turbo couldn't handle any more boost without grenading itself (long term). If people can run twin turbos (~1400cfm) on the same intercooler as stock without having much of a difference on performance then the stock turbo (~600cfm) even when overheating the air would probably be ok as the aftercooler would end up helping that problem.

I have a 16 manifold, non-wastegated, on my truck now. I can see 30 pounds of boost in mid & upper ranges. Is there anything else that will help?

I see your point of over 37 lbs. of boost. But, I can't get up to there to worry about it. My EGT's are low as well, 600-625 cruising, 700-900 full throttle, [after turbo] . I did make 1,000 at about 100 mph going uphill with 600 pounds of tube sand [ 2wd & winter]. Is this a case of needed injectors? Turbo? Some other adjustment?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you need more fuel (injectors or fuel plate) to create more boost. The extra fuel causes more backpressure which will allow the turbo to run a higher amount of boost. Sounds like you were right at the limit, 1250 pre turbo or 1000 post turbo.

The problem with the post turbo temp reading is that the limit of 1000°F doesn't apply anymore once you change housings and add more fuel. The temp differential across the turbocharger goes exponential above about the 34-35 psi mark (depending on many other factors like timing etc.) with the HX35 compressor/turbine setup.

When you add more fuel you need more air, to keep the EGTs down. When you have maxed out your single turbo, 35-38 psi, you must go with twins. If you add more air without adding more fuel you won't get much more power, unless you weren't able to burn the fuel you were giving it before you added the air (lots of black smoke).
When I put twins on my truck, with stock injectors and a PM3, all of a sudden when I was drag racing I no longer had ANY smoke. It was great! My EGTs, well, I don't think the gauge ever moved after I started it in the morning.
I gained several HP because I was now able to burn the fuel more efficiently than before.
With the second turbo, you will be able to get more boost, more COOL boost. You'll be able to blow your head gasket, no problem, with the amount of boost you'll have.

Although, I first have to do what Santa bring to my fireplace stocking!
Did you add o-rings & or studs to the motor?
What kind of fuel mileage did the twins addition result in. My daily comute is a factor here.

You really need to move your pyro sender to the manifold. This will be the best place for it.
Are you starting to talk+think about twins? You need to be a very very very good boy in 2005 if you want Santa to bring you a set of twins
