One of a couple (three?) ways.

Turnbuckle, search for that term, you should get a lot of hits.
Spent .22 shell, not sure if a search will yield much, but worth a try.
Turbo Master.

There is an article on the Turbo Master install accessible from the "Articles" link on the main logo up there ^.

hey floorman, you can take the actuator off and put a 22shell in the line and put it back on or (easier way) put a turnbuckle around the wastegate arm to the actuator bracket and tighten it down to hold the gate shut.you won`t notice any power gain, but you will notice an egt drop which in turn will let you add more fuel to get more power at the same egt you were at.at wot mine dropped from 1250*at 21lbsob to 1050*at 32 lbsob.hope this helps you.......bama

Dan, that's right.

More air is only more air for fuel to burn in.

You could make 50PSI boost, and if you didn't increase the fueling, you wouldn't increase power.

However,, you can have 15PSI boost, and increase the fuel, and increase the power.

Diesel do not need to maintain a Air:Fuel Ratio to run.

to bad you can't reprogram the computer to see more fuel with the more air (boost).

Dan:

That is basically what your Vanaaken box is doing. It puts more fuel to the truck than the stock program. Then you need to get the right amount of air to it to burn it effeciently, which is why you need higher boost.

Go ahead and upgrade to something like a TST box. That way, you can still use the aggressive timing of the VA box.

It's a big HP box, and will push your turbo, and tranny to their limits,, but it'll put a " " on your face.

Wow. I just learned something! Does this mean that if I removed the boost elbow that I'd probably get more smoke too? I also have RV275 injectors. Am I making use of the extra boost that the elbow is giving me? If I could put my thoughts into English, this would be more understandable

Merrick, In one of your earlier post you mentioned stacking a VA and TST boxes. I have a VA that I'm not using since I got my EZ comp. Can those two boxes be stacked? Have you heard of doing that/

Thanks,

rattle_rattle,

since you have more fuel, you are making use of the extra air. The Extra air is keeping your EGT down. If you removed the Elbow, you would probably have a little more smoke at WOT (maybe a haze) and higher EGT. The Boost Elbow does not effect the Low-End smoke. Only 3/4 Throttle and above.

Gene007,
The TST box does not do timing, but the COMP does, so does the EZ. That's why we say to plug in the EZ box when using a TST box, to get the added power from timing. The COMP box is allready giving you timing. Plugging in the EZ while using thte COMP would do little or nothing for you (it might set Check Engine lights). I have never done that combination before.

I don't think you could hurt your truck, but, it would probably run crappy. (My Guess)
