My buddy has an '02 automatic. He and I took a ride in my truck the other night and he finally said "OK dude, what do I have to do to make my truck rock?" I'm assuming that it is the same as my truck (exhaust, intake,gauges and then box) but I am asking the DTR brethern the best way to get it done. Also, it seems the Edge comp is the best box for his set up ( about an equal mix of empty and then towing ~9K).
Any help is appreciated.

 

From what I've gathered in my bomb study for my 01 is that the Edge EZ and RV 175 injectors is about as far as you want to go with a stock trans (and even that is no guarantee). I would think that if a Comp with a tapped wire and injectors are on his wish list, he had better factor in some trans upgrades. I'm very pleased with my EZ/rv upgrade, but I am saving for a trans goodies as I have a rebuildable core in my garage.

So if all he does is intake mod's are you suggesting that the safest way to go is w/ an EZ? The first box I ever had was a DD TTPM and I have nothing bad to say about it at all. Thanks for your help.

 

upgrade the trans and stick a comp in there. that way he can turn it on and off when hes towing or playing. then later on down the road when he wants more power, put some bigger sticks in.
