body lift or suspention lift?

i have an 97 ext cab long box. im not looking for alot of lift, 2-3 inches, i think. i just want to get the diff off the ground. i will probably be doin mostly mud bogging. the roads get that bad when its wet. i think the biggest tires i want to stick under her are 33s. so do i lift the body or the suspention. i think the body lift is cheaper. alot of the guys here seem to have put massive lifts under their trucks. what do u do with those trucks? how does it effect your daily driving? did u have to do any other mods? i had heard the of u go over 2". u have to extend the steerin linkages. i havent done anything like this to a truck before. any imput would be great.

33" will fit stock under the truck, with a 2in leveling kit you can clear 35" tires. A body lift looks bad and is alot of work on a dodge.

I would suggest the suspension life. Yes it cost more, but its is worth it. Replacing your ten year old suspension will make your ride much better. You will gain suspension travel and flex.

IMO body lifts are a cheap way to go. They don't always look good.

You could level out the front with 2 inch spring spacers. That's plenty of room for 33's. I think maybe even 35's with some rubbing.

You'll be able to clear 33's right now without any issues. If you wanted to run 35's you need either the 2" leveling kit or body lift and you'll most likely have a touch of rubbing with the wheel turned and stuffed. You can ovoid this by dialing in the perfect backspacing, but I haven't found it yet.

body lifts are for show. they never really look right eather, if ur gona use it dont go with a body lift. like everyone elce said though, for 33 no lift needed.

The 4" skyjacker system is pretty good. Only 1 problem, the trackbar drop bracket...not enough support to the frame. Installed w/Bilsteins longest shocks and it almost drives like a caddy.

3'' spacers from top gun customz rear add a leaf with 315/70-17s on 3rd generation wheels with olmost no rubbing only on the lower control arms. i fixed that with a set of 3rd gen control arms. they bolt right up.

i put a body lift on my 99 and the leveling kit, i will never do a body lift again, its more hassle than its worth, sire they are only $170 from summit, but you also have to modify the inter cooler tube and your fan shroud is only gonna be mounted at 2 spots on the top. go for the gold and get suspension or the spacers, i would recomend the spacers, they are about a 4 hour install with a buddy to help move the axle around

Just get a leveling kit and the tires and you'll be fine with 33's!
