Body Lift For 2001 Diesel

My local 4x4 shop told me that they don't make a body lift for a 2001 dodge diesel 4x4. He didn't know exactly why but he said it had to do with the intercooler and radiator. He said that they are mounted on the body and not the frame like the newer models. He said I could use a 2001 1500 Ram kit if I could find a way to move the intercooler and radiator or make my own brackets or something. Is this true and has anyone done this yet? Any information will be greatly appreciated. I'm determined to put a 2" body lift on my truck at all possible.

I have had a body lift before on another truck and I would never do it again. Yes they work but in my oppion look really bad. Save your money and put a suspension lift on your truck. If you only want two inches then I would go for a leveling kit for your truck. I had one on mine for awhile and it looked and worked great. I'd stay away from a body lift though. Just my 2 cents.

You can get a 2" leveling kit for $125.00 or a set of springs for $150.00. Why would you want to mess up a good truck by useing a body lift?

I've got a 3" kit that came with new shocks all around, 3" spacer for the front, and an add-a-leaf for the rear. I've already got the front end put on and the rear is still 1/2" higher without the add-a-leaf. So, I'm contemplating on whether or not to put the add-a-leaf on the rear. My main goal here is to put a meaty 315/75/16 on it. So will this fit as is or do I need more?

I fit a 315 on my truck with just a leveling kit. It really filled the wheel well's and looked really good.

You should be able to put the 315s on with a leveling kit. Do a search on 315s and leveling kits and see what it says.

I got an '01 4x1of2 with 315's on it. All I did was a 2 1/2" leveling spacer in the front. Next step is an air locker for the back.

The 315's fit perfectly with the leveling kit, not too big not too little.
