Question Black Rims

I know black rims have been discussed before, but what are some good brands/models that are affordable , with decent back spacing (don't want them sticking out TOO far), and fit the Dodge without any mods or grinding? Looking at 16 or 16.5.
Thanks!
Dave

Dave,

I had a set of black rims on my 98 dakota. It was red and i personally think that was the best looking thing i could have done for that truck. Your truck being greeen would look good too. I see alot of green jeeps running around here with those wheels.

As for price, I think mine were about $50-55 a piece including centers and lugs. Your centers would be different than what I had since the axles are full floaters, but i'm sure the price isn't much different. The ones i had were American RAcing model AR-767 (or 676 one or the other.) They can be bought for approx the price i told you from National Tire and wheel out of Wheeling, WV. www.ntwonline.com. I had 15 inch 6 lug, but i'm sure they carry almost every combination you can think of.

Adam, thanks! Looking at that site, 16s are $60, 16.5s are $70. That is well within the price range. The only thing I don't like is the red and blue pinstripes around the edge...
Thanks!

The blue and red stripes are easily removable with a little acetone / fingernail polish. Did that on my old set on my Jeep...

i'm going to be putting black rims on my truck. the ones i have only have a red strip so that is going to look nice on my red truck. but anyway they are 10" and they should have the same backspacing as my alloy's.

Check out my gallery I have Black Steel Rock Crawlers. Mine have 2" less backspacing than stock. Not sure if you can get the right BS or not but I love the way mine look

How much for a set of 2nd gen 16x8 stock aluminum wheels? Powdercoat them for color and backspacing. Might be a bit pricier, but you will have trouble finding 6" backspacing without getting wheels made (www.stocktonwheel.com).

Hondo, those look sharp!! It's kinda hard to tell with the flares, but how far do they stick out from the body? I want a little bit less BS than stock as I currently have a TIGHT turning radius and don't want to lose that.

Also, what brand are they? Were they pricey?
Dave

PS. Some nice bucks ya bagged there!

Beast2B, I actually don't want stock BS as my truck turns VERY tight right now. I really like that. My wife's F350 is an aircraft carrier compared to my CTD.

Those Teflon Coated ones I believe are around $200 a piece. you can find them on Ebay once and awhile for a decent price.

Mine are Pro Comp Rock Crawlers I got them from Chris Darnell at www.4wheelcustoms.com.

I believe the are called the 97 series Soft 8's I think that they are about $70 apiece for the 17". Mine with the 33x12.5 tires stick out exactly 2" that is with 4.5 inches of backspacing. Ask Chris he may be able to hook you up as there are more choices in 16" rims.

Good Luck

Hondo

Thanks about the bucks
