Biodiesel compatible

If I wanted to make my truck biodiesel compatible, what else would I need to change besides the fuel hose from the tank to the injection pump?

What type of hose would I need for this?

My understanding is nothing needs to be replaced on trucks manufactured after 1993.

The Overflow valve may be a casualty if you have replaced it with aftermarket, especially the cheaper ones. There are replacements out there (that I have yet to get) like this one.

Thanks guys.. Looks like the majority of the lines going from the tank to engine are 5/16" steel tubing. Not sure if the previous owner did that or that's how it came from the factory. Then there's about a 1.5-foot piece and a 2-foot piece of rubber hose connecting the steel lines to the lift pump and injection pump. I pulled the rubber hoses and they were J30R6 (not biodiesel compatible) Checked autozone and they had J30R7 fuel hose (also not biodiesel compatible). What we need for bio-fuels is J30R9 spec hose or better.

I'm going to look around for a high-quality hose.

I used to use Goodyear fuel and emissions hose, but apparently all recent manufacture Gates hose is now bio RATED. Nitrile lined. Good to verify with your parts clerk by PN though.

The weird plastic hose on my truck held up fine to bio, but I changed my lift pump configuration and had to take it off.

Just beware that old stock Gates is NOT bio compatible at all. Turns into roof tar when exposed to bio. Some Napa's may still have the old stuff sitting around.
