Bilstein question...

Bilstein question...
Not your standard run of the mill whats better question. My dad has Rancho 9000's, and he and I both love them. They ride good, and the adjustability is nice.
My issue is warranty. Dad purchased his Rancho's from Sams offroad and has had them replaced twice (ain't no way getting around that up here in the snow belt). Anyways, he's always had absolutely top notch service with these shocks. Never paid shipping, never been jerked around. Just box the shocks up and they had them picked up, and when received they shipped 4 new ones the same day.
To my question: To those who have had warranty replaced shocks by Bilstein, how was the experience? What's the warranty? I haven't found any info on the bilstein warranty yet, but lifetime is a plus being in the sale region.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I started off by purchasing some cheapo auto zone ones because the lifetime warranty is nice, but I just noticed Rancho has a buy 3 get 1 free deal running, and it won't be anymore money than the autozone garbage. Then I figured if I'm gonna go Rancho, maybe I should look into Bilsteins a bit?
Thanks a bunch guys,
Shawn

Yep, I'm all about warranty as well! I've tried the ranchos on other vehicles and the ride just seemed to be rough in comparison to the Bilsteins on the dodge. Check out the other comments...there's tons out there.

all I can say is in my experience Ranchos wear out faster then any other brand. I know nothing of their customer service, but I'll never buy their products again. Too much work changing them so often.

My experience with rancho was the ride was hard to dial in, but at least you had some damping adjustments. I put on bilsteins and they soak up bumps nice but the suspension is too loose for high speed stuff.
I still have the old stock height rancho RSX9000's. I lifted the front so they probably wont work now.
All this is making me wonder if I should give up and move to a remote resevoir deal like fox or king. Truck handles like a mad cow.

I'm not questioning the quality of any of the shocks, and changing shocks doesn't bother me. It goes hand in hand with living in the salt region.
My question is: How is their warranty? They can be great riding shocks but if they only last one winter and they screw me around on trying to get them replaced than they're worthless to me.
Only one person from all the posts I read had offered an experience on his warranty claim. Bilstein required you send the shock in you suspect is bad (and pay shipping). They would then test the shock, and if they found it good they'd send you it back (again paying shipping). If they find it bad, they ship you new ones to replace the bad ones.
Not a big fan of that, if that's truly how it works.
