Bigger Fuel tank?
I have heard that I can purchase a bigger fuel tank than the one that came stock with my 98 DTC Shortbed 2500? Is it possible or is it a waste of time and/or money. Thanks.

I believe this is what you're looking for:
http://www.transferflow.com/html/dod...fuel_tank.html
Increase the fuel capacity and driving range on your 1994 - 2005 Dodge Ram Extended Cab or Quad Cab pickup with a larger replacement fuel tank system from Transfer Flow. For 1998 - 2002 pickups, a 54-gallon replacement fuel tank is available for long bed pickups. For 2003 - 2005 model years, a 56 gallon replacement fuel tank is available.
The fuel tank systems come with all parts needed for installation, including straps and mounting hardware. The stock in-tank sending unit is reused in the replacement tank. The fuel tanks are made from a combination of 12 and 14-gauge aluminized steel for superior rust resistance and strength, and are powder coated black for a durable finish.
There are two different types of tanks:
Transfer tanks - for transporting fuel from the station to the field to use to refill equipment.
and
Axillary Fuel tanks - DOT approved as additional fuel source for your truck.

When i get the money i will be replacing my spare with a second tank and a 92-97 ford diesel frame mounted switching valve which also switches your sensor source from the tanks at the valve so you have an acurate reading in the cab and dont have to run a bunch of wires into the cab. then figured a second factory fuel door behind my wheel well would really throw those with a sharp eye for factory detail.
I figure two tanks is better than one especially if i go back home up to montana. then i can keep straight #2 or 50/50 in one tank and run #1 int he other tank for the Cold nights........ plus with my 6spd 4x4 quad cab SB 98 there arent much for replacement tanks price wise and capacity wise that make sense. i can easily fit 30-38 gallons in place of my spare tire and when combined witht he factory 34 thats fair range. also the other catch is a square custom built tank might be more price worthy than a multi angle bolt in replacement tank? just a thought there though
