big line kit

Is a big line kit basically replacing that hard little line between the fuel filter housing and the vp44? if that is all it is would all i have to do is get some hose and fittings that fit where the banjo bolts go?

the bully dog "big fuel kit" runs 1/2" line from the tank to a holley blue pump on the frame rail back by the tank then from the pump up to the factory lift pump. i think the fass runs line all the way from the tank to the fass pump to the injection pump? but maybe someone else can chime in on that for sure hope that helps a little bit ...

I have the big fuel kit and no factory lift pump. There is a 3/8 hose from the tank to the Holley and a 1/2 line from the Holley to the fuel filter on the motor.

The high flow fittings are the most important part. People have even drilled out the stock banjo bolts, but the fittings can be had fairly cheap. I ran a 1/2 inck line kit from Vulcan Performance which also included a bracket and wiring extention so I could relocate the pump to the frame. Carter pumps made great fuel pressure with this setup- it wouldn't drop past 12 psi.

I've got a big line kit and have not put it on yet... how hard is it to get the banjo bolt off the bottom of the fuel filter??? Keep in mind its still well below freezing here...

Banjo bolts weren't much problem. I'd recommend slipping off the line and removing the FF canister from the engine (it's just two bolts, right?) and THEN take the banjo off that way.

Does your 2000 truck have the newer style FF housing or the old one? New= plastic lid with large hex fitting, old= two fuel fittings right on top of canister.

I have the walboro pump on my truck installed now, did it last weekend. But i was wondering about from the factory fuel filter housing to the IP? That line is the little one. Cant you just run a line from the FF housing to the IP that is bigger and be able to tell the difference? I've got the 3/8" all the way to the filter housing with that new walboro pump.

My big fuel line kit isn't sold anymore.

I think Vulcan or Glacier may have a larger line available just for that short stretch you speak of.

IMO, that's the most crucial link in that chain!

I second the vulcan kit, just did mine last week. Not too hard to install, but I did get a "little" fuel on me when I cut the hard line by the tank. ha ha

There are big line kits between the tank and fuel filter and also between teh filter and injection pump.

I know where to find both.

Honestly, you only need the big line to the inlet of the pump. The outlet size is perfect with 3/8" line as it's the pressure side.

Blow a little air pressure back thru the hose going to the tank when you take off the pump. Then when you cut the line you don't loose much of anything. I read this on this site, and it worked for me.
