BHAF Question.

I went with Fleetguard AH19004. It's the marine version. (water resistant) I bought this at the local Cummins dealer. It's about more than double the cost of the regular paper BHAF but being water resistant it's worth the extra protection.
I've got the heat shield cut out of 1/8" aluminum, just trying to find a place to bend it. I will then use the 3 studs to mount it.
BTW, I've ordered the Outerwears cover also...in red.

You are cutting a hole in the "cowl".
Research has shown that air hits the windshield and is directed downward,
you'll notice that is where the intake for the inside vents (heat/AC/vent) is located.
There is a space underneath that vent intake that you are drilling a hole into,
a source of cooler air, being it is outside the engine compartment.

It is still a paper filter, just with some coating to repel water, not waterproof.
Since it is meant for marine use, where the engine is run at redline all day long,
it does flow better than the standard BHAF.

Yep. I will post pics as soon as I get it done.
The trucks been down for the past two weeks due to damage offroading.
After I get the axle seals fixed, replace a few steering linkages, and get her aligned, I'll start back in on getting the heat sheild made.
