BHAF pre-filter?
Hello - I just finished installing a BHAF airfilter to my 2001 HO cummins diesel and wanted to know if it is necessary to install a water proof pre-filter or not? I wanted to know from other owners if they found that water would get into the filter after a hard rain or car wash? The last thing I want to do is damage the engine and want to make sure I'm not forgeting something. Thank you for all your help.

Nessacary, probably not. Cheap way to insure you'll be safe, YES!
I have an Outerwears brand on mine (as do many other members).
For $30 and change, I figured why take any chances. Now then, 5 other people are going to chime in how they have swamped their trucks, ran through creek beds and driving rain and snow and never had an issue......
Here ya go.

If nothing else it will cut down on air filter change intervals, but it does stop water getting on to filter, and dust and dirt. Just remove the prefilter, wash, dry and put back on, very good in dusty areas.
