So I go around looking to find the filters by part number, I have 15 part numbers and nobody has anything in this town. Guess I have to drive to Phoenix or San Diego to get one. My question is, with as many tractor dealers in this town, what application does the BHAF fit. If I could go to John Deere or Case and tell them I need a filter for Tractor X, what would I tell them. I get my Fleetguard filters from them with no problem so can they fill the air filter void I have? Thanks!

Jman, the filter to turbo pipe is rigid enough that the filter will not move around. Be sure to either drive the 3 mounting studs for the factory filter housing down through the fender, or pull the rubber fastners from the factory housing (cut the closed end off) and install them upside down on the studs.

Also, cover the AC line near the firewall with a piece of split 5/8th heater hose or garden hose to keep the filter from wearing it.

Last of all, I highly recommend a 2" long piece of 4" muffler tubing as a stiffner in the filter.

Good luck, RJR, Daddy of the BHAF

Get the marine version of the BHAF and then you don't have to worry so much about the water problem. The filter media is not paper.

The stiffener tube must be for some specific brands. Mine is soo thick at the neck that there is no need for a "stiffener". Its stiffer than the original filter housing..

I got mine at NAPA and is the 542790 by Duralite, Marine version.

I have a pick in my gallery..

I heard something somewhere, probably here, but the Marine version isn't the best choice.
They are made for damp conditions, not dusty.
Marine version doesn't filter the dust as well as the non marine version.

Something to think about.

I went with the WIX 42790 and had a heatshield cut out of aluminum. I just need to order my pre-filter. I used a short 4" piece of exhaust pipe to stiffen it up.

SmokinFive9, I have the 6637 and it is smaller than the 2790. Someone has a picture in their photo gallery but I can't remember who it is.
