Best Valve Body for the $$$

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a decent Valve Body for the $$$ I dont have a ton of money to spend and I'm limited at $500. So far I've seen the BD VB in that price range. But I've heard on and off things about that unit. My Truck sits 5 days a week, and is a daily driver on the weekends and I do my share of towing, mainly my Off Road Toy and then my camper.

I'd like to hear what yall are running and how you like them?

Thanks yall!
Rick

I would go DTT. If you ever go with a full DTT you already have the VB

well if you are handy with a wrench you could always go for a Trans-Go shift kit.... Usually found for under a hundred bucks on ebay and vastly improves shift points and firmness. Also provides all the benefits of added power handling capacity to your tranny/TCC

I'd go with the DTT. I used to run one and it held 430hp for over a year on a stock converter and tranny. It was really nice.

I've got a BD VB with a pressure lock and I have had great luck. Had it for about a year now. I don't drive my truck on a daily basis...but I use it every weekend just like yourself, and my setup from BD has worked for me.

What is all involved in changing the Valve Body. Up untill I picked up the 2001 I have been a manual transmission type of guy and I want to tweak the power a bit and am concerned about the trany. Im good with a wrench...how hard?
