Best Towing Combo

After much expense and trial and error. I think the best towing
combo is the following.

1. RV275 injectors
2. Van aaken V5
3. AEM Workhorse intake
4. 4" exhaust
5. Southbend OFE

This applies tom 2001.5 HO 6speeds only

Sounds like a decent setup for a stock turbo. I don't think it would be better than a small set of twins. Eric

I thought you went away from the van aaken should have never stray from the fold van aaken is a great box for pretty decent power. I am going to add a con ofe and maybe injectors later on.

I had a really similar setup. Except I had an EZ then went to a Catcher ECM.

Great towing setup. Egts were never an issue. The Catcher (now smarty) did way better than the EZ did tho. Power came on sooner and I could run my shifts out to 2500 if needed. The EZ fell flat on its face after 2200 rpm's were the Catcher just pulled.

Comes in real handy around here were majority of the speed limits are 55-60 mph or lower.

I have to run in 5th, but you can pass someone with 15K in tow no sweat. Just pulled great. I wouldn't of tried that with the EZ.

i've grossed over 42k with my combo a couple times and yea egt's were kinda toasty but i think with a spearco and a 64/12 egt's would be fine. i hardly ever take mine over 1250 for very long so toasty might be fine to some but not me. we made 3-850 mile trips and still got 8 mpg. truck was in the body shop and we rented an 06' powerjoke and got 5 mpg and couldn't run near as fast. cummins still rocks even with 195k on it.
