is this the best spot for pyro probe?
i have done a search without finding anything REALLY convincing.
is this the best place to put my probe for truck in sig?
i understand the rear three cylinders run hotter than the front on the 24v engines.
should i place the probe as per the picture? or should i place it at the opening of one of the exhaust ports for cyl 4, 5, or 6?
also, in the pic i see the manifold has a septum. does the septum completely divide the front 3 cylinders exhaust from the rear? or is it just an illusion?
thanx

another point to ponder. sounds like #6 runs the hottest. therefore, #6 port would be the 'BEST' spot for accurate temps.
BUT . . .
it sounds as though most guys place it as per the pic. therefore, most of the information i find on here will be from that spot.
so maybe i should just go with that spot so i can compare 'apples to apples'.
maybe i just answered my own question here, but please shar your input and thoughts . . .

123 & 456 are totally separate from each other in the oem manifold. it doesn't matter really if the probe is there or in front of #6 I've had both on my old 24v. it doesn't make a lick of difference. don't sweat the small stuff. as long as its before the turbo you're golden.

I guess there could be an argument made to monitor just #6 but it seems the standard location works pretty well for many many people.
I seem to remember talk about that area of the manifold in the picture being thicker but it's been a while so my memory may not be correct.

i never noticed a difference from right on front of #6 to right in front of the turbo. really does the 8" make a difference. not really. as long as your in the 456 side of the mani.

in the collector it is then.
as stated above, is one area thicker than the rest?
or should i just eyeball it and aim for the middle of the rear collector?
