Best performance mod for the money
For a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 5spd 4.10 rear end, what is the best performance enhancer for the money. I have been looking at the Quadzilla xzillerator and the edge EZ. Is there another product that is better that makes more power?
Thanks

I think that most of us here have burnt up a vp44 from not taking the proper precautions. I ran a Edge comp on my truck & the vp44 was toast after 3 weeks. Get gauges [pyro, boost, fuel pressure] first....then a fuel system [fass, airdog].

Definately...Gauges first!
Can't beat a used EZ for the money! It's a good 60 hp (30% jump) first step. Check the Classified Section in the header.
IF budget allows...get a Smarty! http://www.madselectronics.com/index.html
Either one can later be stacked with a fueling box for bigger HP.

I had an ez on my 99 along with some dd3's. If I had to do it over again I would spend the money and buy a comp, and run it untapped. That way later down the road when you upgrade the fuel system you you can tap the pump and go.

I'll jump on the band wagon... GET GAUGES! EGT, fuel pressure, and boost.
I just put a Quadzilla Xzillaraider on mine, and couldn't be happier with the bang for the buck. $319 from www.vulcanperformance.com I'd also recommend exhaust, for lower egt's and better sound.
Edit: One of the things that sold me on the Quad was their reputation for quality service and standing behind their product. Do a search here, and you'll see what I mean.

Well since you asked what the best performance mod for the money is then my answer is Smarty. If I was only doing one mod to my truck it would definately be Smarty! Now if your questions was how important are gauges, then I would say very important. Fuel pressure first and foremost. Then exhaust gas temp, then boost then trans temp. I would not do gauges thought, I would do an in-cab monitor.
