That space comes in mighty handy as a platform/step when working under the hood! Don't know if it's a step on purpose... or designed as impact absorbtion to protect radiator .... or none/all of the above??

But if you don't like it...you don't like it

I think Buckstop Outback is the best looking bumper ever, that was the only one under 2000bucks that you can get the tough look and actually some protection too.

Here's mine:

There's a little more in my gallery.

Actually get some Protection???
My UTE 10mm Aluminum Bull Bar has been proven to protect against radiator damage when hitting an 80 lb Kangaroo at 160 KPH!

Only problem is... can't find any Kangaroos in the Southwest

I like my Ali-Arc. Weighs maybe 10-15 more pounds than stock bumper assembly.

Was a little cheaper than a ranch hand....and it wont rust.

I don't think you understand what I'm talking about... I don't care if it sticks out thirty feet from the front of the truck... look at the gap between the top of the pipe and the grill/lights. looks like the truck has a body lift or something (but it doesn't)

I know you don't like the look of the gap most of them are there because they are keeping the mass of the bumper inline with the frame and low to the ground, you know I know that the bumper on mine will hold in place but, you have to think if you were to hit a small car or a small car hit you. with the high bumper the small car will go right under a dodge I have seen it not a nice looking picture . with the mass of the bumper lower you have a chance of stoping the little car. before it goes under. I also have had the thought of putting a winch on top of the bumper in the open space. but that would be at a price because in that spot if openings for the intercooler. that I like it has direct airflow and is very well protected.

I liked the looks of this Ali-Arc best of all I have seen so far. It even made me want one. What I think I want in one is not-so-low ground clearance to keep the approach angle high. This one sits just about where I think it should! How much do these go for?

Forrest: I have a Ranch Hand brand with a front receiver hitch I'm fixing to take off. I'm going to re-weld my old one the body shop hacked off and re-install. I'll take $600 for it or we can trade for a good 4 man goose hunt in your neck of the woods. I'm in NM right now so I can't get good pics to you but it's only been on the truck about 3 months.
