Best intercooler
ive looked at Banks, BD, and Spearco. What do you think run the best? How much do rounded tanks affect airflow compared to plate and bar setup? If they do, what kind've margin?

I'm shooting from the hip on this one, but I'm most impressed with the Spearco. I prefer the bar and plate design.
I don't think there's that much of a performance difference between any of them. Spearco, imo, has the best reputation because they've been making PREMIUM intercoolers for a long time, making their mark in the import world years ago.
Banks has also been doing this a long time. You can always count on a Banks product to be made to high quality standards-- and to be priced a little higher than I'd normally guess.
The BD I have no idea about-- I know that some of the big dogs had a hand in testing and developing it, but I have no idea how it would perform.
Judging just crudely from pics, the BD end tanks appear to be the worst design.
jmo-- I could have this all wrong.

Spearco
I have a friend that runs a Banks in his Ford and it is an improvement over stock, but i have long thought Spearco's with the bar and plate design moves a higher volume of air than the Techni-Cooler, with its rounded aluminium end tanks, at a slight loss in instant throttle/boost response. just a thought..

I run a Dura-Lite intercooler in mine and its a bar and plate and I love it.The reduction in egts has shown me its going to pay for itself over the long run and during the heat of summer it really helps keep her cooler driving.
Hohn..
There is a difference in the charge air coolers performance wise.It may not be seen in HP numbers but if you ever seen them flow tested you would understand........Andy
