Best clutch for the money?

Don't need anything HUGE, but a good clutch to keep up with my plate and possibly some injectors....

Please find me one to order.

Direct replacement...

I put a LUKs Pro Gold in my 98.5 cost around $300 if memory serves me right. It hold fine with my 80hp injectors and the power puck.

ValAir, I have their 500hp rated ceramic clutch with a 3800lb. plate load and it will not slip! Its very smooth as well, I can still tow 15k no problem I am at/around 400rwhp and I have never had it slip even once. Call Dan and he will get you fixed up!

I love my Zoom ZVT Stage 2! Smoothest driving clutch I've had, affordable, great support.

Zooms are nice clutches, my buddy has the stage III in his and with similar mods to mine (lil smaller injectors and less timing though) but in 4th and 5th it will slip if you romp down on the pedal What do you do with the truck? Just daily driving, hotrodding, towing, etc...?

I like South Bend Clutch. I ran an FE to 678hp by adding a bit of timing to keep the torque down to the mid 1100's. I switched to a DD and did not like it. I would like to see SB offer a slightly heavier plate load for the FE. When I picked up my truck after they swapped my FE back in(was running a 3600 12cb ) the first time I pushed in the clutch I thought they forgot to hook up the hydraulics. The pedal effort on the FE is less than stock. South Bend was here yesterday and will be here next year. That and the way they treat their customers will keep me from shopping elsewhere.

They only have a Stage one (orgainic facing) and a Stage two (ceramic facing) in the ZVT (Zoom Variable Torque) clutch line. There's little fingers that increase clampload with RPM.

I tow, daily drive, and hot rod. We were at the dragsrtrip last Tuesday and I pulled two 3500RPM launches in 3rd gear (6speed). No slip, no chatter.... just lockup and run.

Another vote for Valair! thats what I have now, and Dave was really helpful. I can't slip mine, I don't have a ton of torque compared to alot of trucks here, but it was $225 shipped to my door, and the last 2 weeks it's really smoothed out and I love it.

I am running a Southbend 13" FE and havent been able to slip it but I have twisted the guts out of two of them. I spoke with Dan at Valair and he thinks his clutch will hold up. Horsepower isnt the problem with the Cummins, its the torque and vibration.

Ok my bad my buddy has a stage II, I thought it was a stage III for some reason. He has had it a little less than 2 years now with alot of daily driving and hard work. Good clutch I didn't mean to come across as a bash but he is now in need of a clutch before any more power. As soon as the timing and boost kick in it will slip in 4th and 5th (12v btw).

My Buddy had a Napa clutch that held real good... held good enough that he ripped the center out of it

I have the Southbend Con O, rated for 400hp. Seems good so far but not as cheap as some others.

I would like to try a Zoom clutch. My power comes on over a longer period of time and my peak torque is at around 3000 rpm. It seems like I might be able to benefit from it. I have a much larger injector i would like to try with this new top charger.
