Best bang for the buck kit
After I finish doing the KDP boogie soon- what is the best bang for the buck bolt on kit for a '98 HP and torque wise? I am most interested in keeping my milieage + increase power. This ram is bone stock.

Call Bill at Heath Diesel, he is great and very friendly. Look up "turbo-master" on the net and call them-same company. He worked wonders for my Dad's truck.

Okay, here's my input:
First off, gauges. If it's a manual, you can get away with EGT (I recommend pre-turbo) and boost gauges. Those won't get you any HP, but they will do wonders to keep you informed when you are overworking your engine!
Next, I'd go for a TST plate. Which # cut you decide on is up to you. Just go to
http://www.tstproducts.com/power_kits_trial.htm
That's how the bug bites you. Later on, you'll be looking into intakes, exhaust, better clutch or tranny, #10 plate, injectors, and custom turbo.
Trust me, I know!

Torque Plate for sure. Then I'd look for exhaust and intake, cause you'll probably run into egt problems (will need gauges to know for sure.) Ran just a torque plate for 3 years before I went with anything else. Could outpull anything, but if it's an auto whatch your tranny. I burnt up my "beefed tranny" in 30K with just the plate. Had to invest in a good one, DTT, after that.

I have decided to go tranny first- but is there a good kit that has everything you really need in one shot? You know, intake, exhaust, plate etc?
