best auto tranny vendor

Hey everyone, i was just kinda curious which auto tranny vendor yall have heard the best about. I am gonna beef my tranny up as it is starting to have a little trouble. I have heard good things about ATS, BD, and DTT. So please lend me your opinion on whats the best torque converter, valve body, and tranny/tc controller.

Thanks!

Just a note here guys, this one will be watched closely. As long as everyone sticks to facts and leaves the opinions out, there should be no problems.

Thanks guys.
Rich.

They all make good products, but like everything else, everyone has their prefrences. Any of the big ones should be able to build you a suitable tranny for moderate hp levels (sub 500)

Shoot Storks a PM (I believe he was the one that has problems with his ATS)

The only thing I am going to say is give Dave Goerend a call 563-778-2719. He has the ABSOLUTE best customer service and I think warranty in the business. PM me if you want more info on what I posted.

The best tranny is the one that works for you're application. The best tranny is the one, that if a problem happens you have someone who has your back no question. The best tranny is one that won't break the bank. The best tranny is the one that you've done extensive research about. The best transmision is the one that at end of the day leaves you

Very well said!

Sorry Jasper... but there is just no substitute for doing your homework. Read every thread and web site you can find, talked to all the vendors that interest you, and then decide. After a few hours you will start reading between the lines and gain lots of knowledge.
Your question is valid, but will not yield the info you seek. Tempers have flaired in the past so we all tend to answer these questions cautiously. Tranny rebuild is a major decision... give it the time and research it deserves. JMO

Goerend is my Personal choice becuause of his awesome customer service, warranty, and products. His prices are also hard to beat. That said, DTT and Suncoast also make great stuff IMO; and I wouldnt hesitate to go with either of those either. I just think Dave has the best warranty.

I will be at Daves on Monday to have my full built tranny put in! I plan on 600+ HP for use as a truck puller and for trips to the drag strip.

Dave Goerend has my vote to. Have had his transmission installed for about three weeks now and I'm all every time it shifts. He will go out on a limb to take care of you, and you can't beat his warrentee. We plan on going truck pulling several times a year with it, with the mods in my sig plus some twins one of these days.
