Best Amsoil Buy?

Hey All,
Where is the most economical place for me to buy Amsoil Filters? I have a BMK-15 Bypass Filter setup on my "new to me" 2500 Quadcab and the $60.00 for 2 filters on their website seems a bit steep to me....or am I being CHEAP? Thanks in Aadvance,
Chris

Most dealers go by Amsoil's price sheet. There just isn't the margins there to lower the prices, unles you want to make zero money.

Best way to do it is to sign up to be a dealer and buy them at cost. Only $30. You save that easy.

It still cost an arm and leg for the stuff after your a dealer. They want to make money on the shipping also. The shipping will take your profit margin down to nothing. Then they charge you your state sales tax also. I think I can buy the Amsoil just as cheap through my parts store. They buy enough to get a discount, and don't have much of a profit margine.

Also a guy in my area bought a car new, run amsoil in the car the whole life. Pulled the vavle cover at 200,000 mile and chouldn't see the rockers because of the sluge. I don't know how much he change the oil, still not a good sign.
I run amsoil myself in gear lub and 2 cycle oil.

Ok seems like Dan buddy has some Amsoil bitterness but anyway if you read the literature it says these filters and they are $30 dealer cost each can be run up to 60,000 miles in conjunction with the EA engine filter. Not really as expensive as you think when using extended intervals. I don't use them but instead the Donaldson 7349 with 15-40 Marine diesel oil on 25,000 km (15,000 mile) oil changes and have since the truck new after breakin. Despite Dan's sludge story I have just changed the front crank seal, pulled the timing cover and inside is like new and clean- go figure 230.000km (141,000 miles). I buy the "Dealer Membership" for my cost use advantage and they do charge shipping when it is necessary but find the local distribution center and see if it is possible to pick it up on a trip by. Anybody who asks to buy through me gets the same price I pay and usually kick in a small fuel fee which they feel is only fair for convenience. I use it as it is more convenient than the other alternatives like RP or Redline but all are "class 4 PAO 100% synthetic" giving you the edge on heat deterioration and cold weather flow to protect your engine in cold start ups and running.. The "bypass filters" go down to 1 micron which is going to remove the carbon particles which cause bearing scuffing- your choice to use them or not but I do know guys up here with them in excess of 400,000 miles and no engine rebuilds. Of course all the Shell Rotella boys are going to make the same claim on high milage engines. If the system is already there just buy the filters and monitor the oil with sampling, they will tell you if they are not working anymore. PK
